A day dedicated to bicycling

Two downtown churches are teaming up to host a celebration of cycling this Saturday.
St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church and Two Rivers Church will host Love Your Bike – a Community Cycling Festival from 9 a.m. to noon June 14 on the lawn of St. Andrew’s church, 161 Norfolk St.
This celebration of the bike will include Chris Stewart of Bits, Bikes and Boards, offering complimentary mechanical checkups, and a practical tutorial on basic bike maintenance from Mike Dennis of Speed River Bicycle, a news release said.
A second tutorial on safe riding practices will follow, it said. As well, as a special bonus, Clayton Foxall of Backpeddling will be displaying his antique bike collection.
The morning will wrap up with a moment of silence, followed by a blessing of the bikes and an organized group ride.
