GUELPHTRIBUNE.CA COMMUNITY IS SPONSORED BY:

Adopt-A-Family needs assistance

About 60 families – each with three, four or five children – are still waiting to be adopted this season through the Children’s Foundation of Guelph and Wellington’s Adopt-A-Family program.
“Right now, we have many families left to be adopted, and we are asking those who are able to give this holiday season to get in touch with us as soon as possible,” foundation executive director Glenna Banda said in a news release.
The program matches community donors to needy families and children to provide extra help during the holiday season. Last year, the program helped more than 650 families. This year, more than 750 have already been referred to the program.
More than 600 donors have already signed up to take part, many of them opting to donate rather than taking part in “Secret Santa” or gift exchanges, the release said.
In spite of this, the foundation is still falling a little short and is hopeful that more donors will come forward.
Those interested in adopting a family can sign up at childrensfoundation.org or call the foundation at 519-829-0855.
