The YMCA-YWCA of Guelph is looking for people to serve on its board of directors.
Board members serve a three-year term and play a governance role in supporting the strategic vision of the local Y. The organization serves the community and its board composition aims to reflect its diversity, said a news release.
The Y seeks new board members offering one more of the following professional competencies and skills: Legal expertise, senior business management experience, financial management expertise, and human resource management expertise.
Expectations include:
• Commitment to a leadership role in helping the organization achieve its strategic goals.
• Support the financial sustainability of the Y by personally donating to the annual campaign.
• Attend six to seven board meetings each year.
• Active participation in one of the board committees.
Applicants are asked to provide a resume and brief statement about why they would like to serve on the board by Jan. 31 to:
