Author/artist guest speaker at library AGM

Local author/artist Werner Zimmermann will be the guest speaker at the Friends of the Guelph Public Library’s annual general meeting on April 16.
Zimmermann has illustrated nearly 20 children’s books and has worked with a long list of children’s authors, including Jean Little. He has taught life drawing and animation at Seneca and Humber colleges and is sought out as a speaker and presenter of workshops, including presentations designed to encourage young artists, said a notice in the Friends’ newsletter.
In addition to his talk, the group will have lots to talk about at this year’s meeting, including last year’s book sale and the search for a new home for this year’s book sale, it said.
There will also be an exciting proposal to help the library, which requires a vote of support from members, it said.
The meeting takes place at 7:30 p.m. at the main library branch.
