Barrels of barrels

Centennial Collegiate student Tim Wu grabs a rain barrel for a waiting customer during the school’s fundraising sale on Tuesday evening. Students in Centennial’s Social Responsibility Club held the Earth Day sale to raise money to build waste-streaming stations for the school’s recycling, compost and garbage. They sold 55 of the barrels, which were once used to ship pickles and olives, and will now be used to capture rain water for gardening. The sale raised $550.
