Ontario motorcyclists are gearing up to take part in the annual Canada 911 ride Aug. 20-21.
The two-day ride, which leaves Mississauga and ends in Vaughan, will wind its way through rural areas over southwestern Ontario, a news release said.
The bikers will make a local stop in Puslinch Township on Aug. 21 for a BBQ in support of the Canada 911 Ride Foundation. The barbecue, held at Nestlé Waters Canada, 101 Brock Road South, from 12 – 2 p.m., is for motorcyclists participating in this year’s ride, a news release said.
Through its annual police-escorted motorcycle ride, the Canada 911 Foundation seeks to raise funds and awareness of the foundation’s causes, including families of fallen emergency service personnel, returning military personnel injured in the line of duty and children of violent crimes, as well as providing public defibrillators.
