Bowl for Kids looks for teams

Local teams are being invited to pair their bowling shoes with bell-bottoms, poodle skirts, flapper dresses and the like during this year’s Bowl For Kids Sake.
The Big Brothers Big Sisters fundraiser, presented by Hoyes Michalos & Associates, takes place from March 21 to 24 at Woodlawn Bowl and also marks the organization’s 100th anniversary in Canada. Teams can celebrate the event by “decking out” in outfits from their favourite decades for a chance to win prizes.
Currently, the local branch of Big Brothers Big Sisters has 50 children waiting to be matched with mentors. For every two teams that reach their $600 fundraising goal, the organization will be able to fund one match for a year.
The bowlathon has a fundraising goal of more than $80,000. The bowlers collect pledges in an effort to reach that goal.
People are invited to become a captain and start a team or join an existing team. Visit www.guelphbowl.kintera.org.
