Local children and their families are being invited to add some extra colour to this year’s Resilience 2013: A Community Festival with a parade downtown.
The festival, hosted by Transition Guelph on Saturday March 23, will feature an array of family-friendly workshops and activities aimed at raising awareness of environmental issues.
The event’s young attendees will be invited to gather in front of city hall at 3:30 p.m. to show off kites, signs and other handcrafted items made during the festival. They will then march to the festival site at St. George’s Anglican Church.
They will be attempting to attract even more members of the community to join in the festival as they wind their way through the Ecomarket in Old Quebec Street on their way to the church, a news release said.
As in previous years, the day will culminate in an Earth Hour Pot Luck party, it said. For more information on the festival and its events, visit www.guelphresiliencefestival.ca.
