Community Wellness Day at Evergreen Centre

Local health and wellness practitioners and businesses are coming together for a Community Wellness Day on June 22.
The inaugural event, hosted by Healthy Balanced Living at the Evergreen Seniors Community Centre, will welcome those who are looking for health, healing, happiness, peace and spiritual evolvement, a news release said.
Participants will have the chance to learn about holistic services and products and get “mini treatments” in massage, bowen, reiki, reflexology, chiropractic and more, it said.
Admission includes a complimentary treatment from any of the participating health and wellness practitioners, lunch and the chance to hear featured speakers Malgorzata Smelkowska, country director for The Hunger Project Canada.
Smelkowska has travelled to villages of Bangladesh and Senegal to see first-hand the impact of The Hunger Project’s work, the release said.
The project and Guelph-Wellington Women in Crisis are the charities of choice for the wellness day event, with the goal to bring awareness and funds to these organizations, it said.
There will be a silent auction during the day, with prizes donated by local businesses.
The event runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For ticket information, contact Patricia at 519-362-8135 or patricia@healthybalancedliving.ca. Full information on the event can be found online at www.communityhealthday. com.
