Outdoor skating

Dovercliffe Park is the site of countless outdoor skating rinks throughout the city.

Cooling it

Malcolm Williams takes advantage of the bitterly cold weather on Thursday afternoon to work on making ice for a community skating rink at Dovercliffe Park. Williams credited fellow volunteer Mike Jobb with doing the lion’s share of the work to build the outdoor rink, which is located off College Avenue, west of the Hanlon Parkway. The ice surface is one of many outdoor rinks created by volunteers in community parks across the city. Provided the cold weather continues, it will be the site of a cancer fundraiser in February.
