Tommy Beke, a Grade 11 student at Bishop Macdonell high school, poses with a logo he designed. It has been chosen to become the provincial Ministry of Education’s first logo for its Dual Credit School College Work Initiative Program. The logo, which will be used on the program’s provincial website and in all of its marketing and promotional material, was formally presented to the Ministry of Education on Friday. The program involves a partnership between high schools and colleges. It can result in high school students earning both high school credits and college credits at the same time in specialized fields – which they can use if they go on to pursue the field at college after graduating from high school. Beke, who has a focus on graphic design, also created a French version of his logo, at the ministry’s request.
