The city is set to unveil its new Culture Map, an online database of Guelph’s cultural assets, gathered through the recent Cultural Mapping project.
City staff, along with Giant Goat Web Developers, will launch the map with a virtual tour on March 19 at the River Run Centre. Attendees will then be invited to attend a casual reception in the Canada Company Hall following the launch, a news release said.
“Guelph recognizes that creativity, culture and quality of place are major drivers of sustainable community development,” the release said. “This online directory provides an essential tool for effectively leveraging our community’s existing cultural assets, and is a valuable planning tool for cultural and economic development.”
The project, funded in part by the province, was undertaken in partnership with the city, the Guelph Arts Council and the Guelph Chamber of Commerce.
The launch event will run from 3 to 5 p.m.
