Family Counselling and Support Services for Guelph-Wellington is getting $20,000 from the province to help with its credit and debt counselling and its employee assistance programs.
The grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation will be used to develop a revenue-generating strategy for these programs, a news release said.
The funding “enables us to explore strategies to sustainably deliver a broader range of much-needed financial coaching and literacy service across Guelph-Wellington,” Family Counselling and Support Service executive director Kate Power said in the release.
“In addition, we will be exploring methods in which smaller companies and not-for-profit agencies can afford to offer counseling support to their employees through employee assistance programs,” she said.
Family Counselling and Support Services is a not-for-profit, community-based agency dedicated to supporting, strengthening and enriching individual, couple and family life by providing counselling, education, support and advocacy services. It’s located at 109 Surrey St. E.
