Downtown Ecomarket on Saturday

Guelph Environmental Leadership is promising a bigger than ever Ecomarket for its sixth annual event on Saturday in downtown Guelph.
The market, which takes place at Old Quebec Street from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., will showcase more than 30 exhibitors with ideas, green products and services, and technologies to help the community take steps to live lighter, a news release said.
Alongside the Ecomarket, GEL is also hosting seven free workshops to help people reduce their footprint in the years to come, the release said. These include the following:
• Net Zero City – Fostering Sustainable Neighbourhoods, presented by GEL’s Glynis Logue at 10 a.m.
• Smart Monitors and Eco Smart Homes, presented by Eden Energy at 10:30 a.m.
• Sun Power, Sun Showers and Sun Swimming – Solar For Your Home, presented by Guelph Solar’s Steve Dyck at 11 a.m.
• The $100 Food Forest, presented by All Sorts Acre’s Jennifer Osborn at 12 p.m.
• Making Sense of Renewable Energy in Ontario, presented by Solar G’s Evan Ferrari at 1 p.m.
• Empowering Transportation Behaviour Change and the Role of Community Car Sharing, presented by Community CarShare’s Jason Hammond at 2 p.m.
• Native Bees and You – Making Space In Your Garden For Bees, presented by d.i.g. collective’s Ben O’Hara at 3 p.m.
