Event celebrates Catholic education

Catholic education will be celebrated with an event Thursday that includes a mass at Church of Our Lady and a social at the nearby Albion Hotel.
People from parishes throughout the Diocese of Hamilton will join locals for the Sept. 20 celebration featuring Bishop Douglas Crosby, a news release said.
“This Mass, coming at the beginning of the school year, reminds us of the blessing of Catholic education,” Crosby said in the release. The event starts with a light dinner at 4:30 p.m. at the Guelph Civic Museum and then moves next door to Church of Our Lady for a Eucharistic celebration at 6:30 p.m.  The social at the Albion, with live Celtic music by House of Good Cheer, starts at 8:30 p.m.
