The Guelph & District Multicultural Festival receives $22,312 from the province.

Festivals score nearly $224,000

A trio of Guelph festivals and two in the county are getting a total of almost $224,000 from the province’s Celebrate Ontario program for 2014.
In Guelph, the Guelph Jazz Festival is getting $85,000, the Hillside Inside winter festival is receiving $38,250 and the Guelph & District Multicultural Festival is getting $22,312. As well, the province is giving $56,525 this year to the Elora Festival & Singers, as well $21,505 to the Fergus Scottish Festival.
“Our government is proud to support Guelph and Wellington County festivals because we recognize their positive impact on tourism and our local economy,” local MPP Liz Sandals said in a news release.
“Celebrate Ontario helps us put a spotlight on the rich culture and traditions that our region has to offer for residents and visitors to enjoy,” she said.
