The facade of Macdonell Street hasn't changed much since the above photo was taken in the early 1900s. The name appears to have changed, however, since the above Guelph Civic Museum postcard says it's "MacDonald Street." Church of Our Lady Immaculate did not have its two towers. Construction on the 200-foot-tall towers was finished in 1926.

The Guelph Optimist Club had the unusual task of clearing space out back of its Beechwood Avenue clubhouse with a snowblower in preparing for its annual Pre-Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday afternoon. However, lots of families crowded onto the site in spite of the snowy conditions. Club member Harry Moyer was busy between the egg hunts held separately for different age groups, tossing candy-filled plastic eggs into the straw laid out in the cleared area.
