Organized by the newly formed Upper Grand Elementary Teachers Association, the seven-hour festival at the Guelph Youth Music Centre involved 14 bands, choirs and other musical groups from seven Guelph schools. With money still coming in, the event raised more than $46,000 for the Alzheimer Society of Guelph-Wellington. The total raised is a big increase from last year’s event, which raised roughly $31,000. The walk was followed by a family skate at the Sleeman Centre.
