Guelph Children’s Foundation grants available online

It just got easier for local families to apply for financial assistance for sports and recreation programs through the Guelph Children’s Foundation.
The foundation has just launched an online system for parents applying to the Children’s Foundation Grants program.
The improved application process takes away the need for families to fill out a paper application each time they apply, a news release said.
Parents will now have the choice to create an account on a secure website, which will provide them with the ability to check the status of their applications, check the balance remaining for each of their children, update their contact information, upload financial information, and more, it said.
At the same time, families that do not have access to a computer or the Internet will still be able to access assistance through the existing application process, it said.
“We look forward to continuing to support families in Guelph and Wellington so that all children have the opportunity to participate in valuable activities like sports, music and camp,” said foundation executive director Glenna Banda in the release.
“It is our hope that the new online system will make this opportunity even more accessible so that more kids are getting active, learning new skills and most of all having fun.”
The system was developed with a grant from the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care’s Healthy Communities Fund.
