Hot Summer Nights event Thursday

People looking for a different way to cool off and get wet this summer may want to check out the Guelph Fire Department’s Hot Summer Nights events.

Kids can check out the fire trucks, police cars and ambulances and can meet emergency responders at these community events, which take place at various parks around the city.

Kids will get to learn about fire safety and accident prevention, but, perhaps more exciting, they’ll get to see the fire hose in action and cool off under its spray.

The following is a list of upcoming Hot Summer Nights events, all of which take place from 6:30 to 8 p.m.:

• July 17 – Margaret Greene Park

• July 24 – Exhibition Park, near the wading pool

• Aug. 7 – Waverley Drive Park, near the splash pad

• Aug. 14 – Riverside Park, near the carousel.
