Jubliee medal for Guelph mayor
Mayor Karen Farbridge has been added to the list of 60,000 Canadians being honoured with a Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee medal.
The Federation of Canadian Municipalities picked Farbridge to receive the medal, which marks the British monarch’s 60 years on the throne. “FCM chose you to receive the distinction for your exemplary efforts to make your community a great place to live,” FCM president Karen Leibovici told Farbridge in an email last week.
“I am humbled to accept this medal, and I would like to thank FCM for not only recognizing me but the City of Guelph’s efforts in building a great city,” Farbridge said in a city hall news release Tuesday.
