March of Dimes in January

Local volunteers will be braving the January cold to go door-to-door collecting donations to support people with physical disabilities in the annual March of Dimes event.
“Our goal is to raise over $14,000 in Guelph,” director of fund development and communications Mary Lynne Stewart said in a news release. “With such a supportive community, I know that everyone will do what they can so we can exceed our goal.”
Money collected through the annual door-to-door campaign funds essential March of Dimes programs and services, including its Assistive Devices Program, a rehabilitation program, social opportunities for people with disabilities and more, the release said.
This year, the Guelph volunteers will be among over 6,000 volunteers in Ontario recruited by the organization to help with the fundraising efforts. They will help to provide programs and services to more than 40,000 people annually in communities across the province.
