Night in Bethlehem close to home

Grace Community Church invites residents to journey back in time this Christmas season with a trip to the place of Christ’s birth over 2,000 years ago.
For three nights, from Nov. 22 to 25, people will have the chance to experience “A Night in Bethlehem,” a theatrical excursion to the “Holy Land,” created by the church with the help of about 200 volunteers, a news release said.
The theatrical excursion begins at the church, 7427 Wellington Cty Rd. 30, where visitors will be escorted through Bethlehem by a guide who will offer protection from Roman soldiers, beggars and thieves, it said.
As visitors weave their way through the busy marketplace, the Christmas story will unfold, and they will find the baby Jesus in the manger surrounded by live animals, including Moe, the camel.
Following the journey, people will be returned to the 21st century, where they will be invited to enjoy homemade Christmas goodies and hot chocolate.
The event will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. on Nov. 22 to 24, and from 5 to 8 p.m. on Nov. 25. Guided tours will begin every 10 minutes.
