Off the rack

Princess Project organizer Laurie Valeriote arranges a rack of dresses on Friday morning at the Salvation Army Citadel, in preparation for young shoppers who would soon be coming in to look for prom dress. In total, 76 girls bought dresses at this year’s sale, and many picked up an entire outfit, said Valeriote. The project, which helps girls get inexpensive dresses for prom or graduation, raised around $1,500 before expenses for the Salvation Army. Unsold dresses will be stored until next year at the citadel, 1320 Gordon St., where people can donate dresses throughout the year.
