GUELPHTRIBUNE.CA COMMUNITY IS SPONSORED BY:

Residents invited to the World Next Door

Immigrant Services – Guelph Wellington wants people to come out, meet their neighbours and celebrate the diversity of the community at the World Next Door event on Saturday March 29 at Sir Isaac Brock school.
“The World Next Door sprung out of an idea by community elders to connect neighbours and bring generations together,” a news release said.
The group felt strongly that they wanted to have conversations with families about how living inter-generationally can be a positive experience and about how to build resilient families and communities, it said.
The community event hopes to highlight ways to build resilient families through communication. It aims to see people value the time spent with family by sharing stories, celebrating family traditions and supporting one another. The event, which runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., will include activities for the whole family, including performances by local puppeteer Jay Wilson and the Guelph Youth Jazz Ensemble.
There will also be board games from around the world, a globally inspired luncheon, a chance to take part in a community video, and drumming, yoga and tai chi workshops.
