Runner’s Olympic journey gets an outdoor screening

A University of Guelph alumnus will be going to the London Olympics this summer, and his journey to the Games can be seen in the comfort of your favourite lawn chair.

The Speed River Track and Field Club will be hosting the premiere of the documentary Road to London about Speed River runner Reid Coolsaet, a Guelph Gryphon alumnus who will compete in the Olympics, which start next week. The film will be shown this Saturday July 21 at 9 p.m. at the University of Guelph Cross Country Course in the Arboretum.

The film follows the past two years of Coolsaet’s life through his preparation and qualification for the London Games,  said a news release. It was produced by Paul Trebilcock and features interviews from some big names in the sports world as they talk about what it takes to reach Olympic glory. The show is outdoors, and only grass seating is available.

To reserve your tickets, email Coolsaet at reidcoolsaet.roadtolondon@gmail.com.
