Show your colours and help out

The city is looking for volunteers interested in helping with the citizenship ceremony that takes place as part of Canada Day festivities in Riverside Park.
One option for helping is to volunteer as a table host on Canada Day. Five hosts are needed to “facilitate discussion with six to eight new Canadian citizens-to-be prior to taking their oath,” a news release said. This involves one meeting about a week before the event, as well as the July 1 hosting – a total of about three hours of your time, the release said.
The other option is to join the Guelph Citizenship Committee. This entails attending a couple of meetings before the ceremony to help in planning logistics for the day, as well as working on July 1 to put plans in place and then attend a debriefing meeting after the event.
