Sparkles in the Park

Chloee Steadman-Carleton and her brother Cohen Steadman frolic among the lights of Sparkles in the Park. A day of snowfall turned Riverside Park into a winter wonderland Tuesday night, much to the delight of children who came out to see the lights.

Sparkles to usher in New Year

The annual Sparkles in the Park light show at Riverside Park will wrap up New Year’s Eve with a fireworks show, starting at 8 p.m.

This final night of celebration marks the end of the 15-day event, which aims to raise more than $20,000 for local and international Rotary projects. Donations are greatly appreciated, said a Rotary Club of Guelph news release.

Sparkles runs nightly from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. until Dec. 31.

To help accommodate crowds for the New Year’s fireworks, there will be free shuttle buses from the Wal-Mart parking lot to Riverside Park and back through out the evening, the release said.
