Tytler’s school council is involved in planning a “Stroll Down Memory Lane” event.

Stroll Down Memory Lane

The city’s oldest school used to be called  St. Patrick’s Ward School. It was later renamed Tytler Public School in honour of a renowned educator, the late Dr. William Tytler, The school will close this June. Tytler’s school council is involved in planning a “Stroll Down Memory Lane” event at the Ontario Street school on May 4 from 1-4 p.m. The “Stroll Down Memory Lane” open house event at the school is  set for May 4. Tytler’s school council is asking people to forward their stories about the school, which was built in 1878. People can forward their Tytler yarns by emailing tytlerschool2012@gmail.com.  The Upper Grand District School Board has yet to decide what to do with the school. Tytler students will attend the rebuilt and expanded Laurine Avenue school when it opens in the fall.
