Take a shot at photography camp

A local organization that uses photography to encourage an appreciation of nature is offering a series of summer photography workshops for children and adults.
Focus on Nature, which runs its photography program in local schools, is running workshops in July for anyone interested in learning more about photographic composition and technique.
The format of the day-long workshops will be similar to the organization’s classroom program.
They will include discussion of the elements of design, a photo field trip to a local park, photo editing with Picasa and a slide show of the participants’ best shots.
The workshops will take place July 8 or 9 for children ages eight to 12, July 10 for youth ages 13 to 18 and July 11 for adults, but parents may accompany their children as participants on any day.
The workshops will be held at FLO Studio, 260 Waterloo Ave.
There is a cost to participate, and reservations are required before July 4. To book, email Simon Bell at simon@focusonnature.ca.
