The Guelph Thanksgiving Day Races are ready to roll on Monday Oct. 8.
The event supports the Guelph General Hospital and will take place at and around Exhibition Park. Several races are scheduled for the day.
At 10 a.m., the Victor Matthews Memorial 10km run takes place in conjunction with the Guelph Thanksgiving Day Races. At 11 a.m. is the Nicolas Lambden Memorial Mile. At 11:15 a.m., a 100m run for youngsters age five and under takes place. The open 5km event is scheduled to start at 11:30 a.m. At 12:10, there is a 1km run for kids in Grades 1 to 3. At 12:30 p.m., an open 3km takes place for runners and walkers.
Atop that, there is a “3 in 1” option for “distance runners who can’t race enough,” said a news release. Folks can race three straight events, the mile at 11 a.m., the 5km at 11:30 a.m. and the 3km at 12:30 p.m.
