Three schools unite for Relay for Life

St. James high school’s sports fields is the site Friday for an all-night fundraiser for the Canadian Cancer Society.
The event will be the first-ever Tri-School Relay for Life. It will include staff and students from St. James, Our Lady of Lourdes and Bishop Macdonell high schools, who will walk the track through the night to raise money for cancer research and to show support for people in the community who have battled cancer.
The relay will begin at 7 p.m. June 6 and will continue until 7 a.m. on Saturday. A Luminary ceremony, where candles are lit in honour of loved ones who have fought cancer, will begin at 10 p.m. Around 400 participants and volunteers are expected to take part in the event.
