Walk in memory of workers

This Sunday, people will take to the trails at Riverside Park in memory of workers who have died or been seriously injured on the job.
The event takes place May 4 from 9:45 a.m. to 2 p.m., with the walk getting underway at about 11 a.m.
Guelph will be one of more than 35 communities across the country taking part in the five-kilometre Steps for Life walk, a fundraising event to help families of victims of workplace tragedy and to raise awareness about the issue of workplace injuries, illnesses and deaths, a news release said.
Family members and friends who have been impacted by workplace tragedies will walk alongside employers, employees and others who believes workplace injuries, illnesses and deaths are not an acceptable cost of business, it said.
