Charlie Corcoran is in his 100th year and turns 100 this October.

Warm welcome

Charlie Corcoran, left, is at the Evergreen Seniors Recreation Centre every Thursday thanks to friend Peter Stark, right, who signed on to do the driving through Seniors for Seniors. The pair greet the people who come and go at the busy rec centre. Corcoran gets the most attention, though, exchanging kisses with the ladies who come for line dancing on Thursday afternoons. The spry old fellow proudly claims to be more than 100 years old, but it’s a bit of an exaggeration. He’s in his 100th year, turning 100 this October. Though Stark brings him to the centre only on Thursdays, Corcoran will be there other days, too, whenever he can get a ride. And he’s happy to share a coffee, a story and maybe even a kiss with people who stop to say hello.
