Author and TV personality David Chilton will share his recipes for personal financial success in a talk Wednesday at the University of Guelph, with proceeds going to an Ontario Veterinary College fund that helps pets.
Chilton, well known as the author of The Wealthy Barber and The Wealthy Barber Returns, will speak at 7 p.m. Feb. 13 on behalf of OVC’s Pet Trust Fund.
Chilton, whose fictitious title character gives his customers often-humorous advice on how to achieve financial independence, recently branched out onto TV. He started this season as a dragon on the popular CBC show Dragons’ Den, in which entrepreneurs seeking investment pitch their businesses to a panel.
Proceeds of his talk will go to the Pet Trust Fund to support various initiatives, such as equipment at OVC’s Mona Campbell Centre for Animal Cancer, a news release said. This facility, which opened last September, is described as Canada’s most comprehensive animal cancer treatment and research centre. The Pet Trust Fund is a charitable fund within OVC that helps pets live longer and healthier by raising funds for learning, health care and other initiatives at OVC.
