Writer’s e-book comes out in paperback

A Guelph resident has released a paperback version of the first book in what’s meant to be a trilogy related to a fantasy role-playing game he played with university friends 14 years ago.
The main characters in Ryan Toxopeus’s book, A Noble’s Quest, were dreamed up by him and his friends as part of a Dungeons and Dragons story that played out over two years, a news release said. A decade later, a friend urged him to flesh out the story and turn it into a series of fantasy novels.
A Noble’s Quest was first released in self-published e-book form in August 2012.
“I received a great reader response to the e-book. Releasing it in paperback is an exciting next step,” Toxopeus said in the release.
The 34-year-old married father of two, who has a day job in research at the University of Guelph, plans to release a sequel titled A Wizard’s Gambit in both e-book and paperback forms later this year. The final book in the series is slated for release in 2016.
The paperback version of A Noble’s Quest, released in March, is available at The Bookshelf. It’s also available online from CreateSpace.com, a print-on-demand service, the release said.
