Arrest for theft at work

Police have arrested a woman for stealing more than $31,000 from her employer.

On May 30, Guelph Police began an investigation into internal theft at a local business.

The investigation revealed that between Feb. 7 and May 29, an employee refunded over $31,000 to her personal bank account from the business’s account, a news release said.

On July 19 at 12:40 a.m., the employee was arrested without incident, it said.

A 27-year-old Guelph woman was charged with 10 counts of break, enter and theft over $5,000.

It’s a sad story for all concerned, there are no winners here.

But, I’m curious: how did she get charged with ten counts of BE&T over $5000 and only make off with $31000?
