About $7,000 was raised for The Guelph Community Foundation at a train ride on the Guelph Junction Railway last week. Dean and Hilary Coates were among passengers who were treated to food and entertainment during the western-themed ride. The event also aimed to raise awareness of the foundation’s Engage program, in which the foundation partners with local businesses to develop a long-term approach to giving, said the foundation’s executive director Andrea Olson.
