Mar 09, 2010
The Ontario Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure is recruiting urban planners from local high schools.
Grade 11 and 12 students are being asked to submit applications as soon as possible to participate in the ministry’s Places to Grow – Youth Engagement Project 2010.
“We are looking for people who are enthusiastic and have an interest in urban issues and growth planning,” Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure spokesperson Anne Smith said in an e-mail. “Students also must be available to attend the opening and closing day-long sessions and to complete the assignments in between.”
The student volunteers will be involved in a three-month project, running from mid-March to May, which will offer the chance to learn about urban planning and design future communities. Applications are submitted online at www.youthography.com/placestogrow2010 .
