The Dr. William Winegard Exemplary Volunteer Involvement Awards annually recognize the volunteer contributions of University of Guelph faculty, staff and students. Named in honour of a past president of the university and a former member of Parliament for Guelph, the awards are in their fourth year recognizing members of the university community who have devoted volunteer time and effort in the Guelph area.
The awards are presented in partnership by the University of Guelph, the United Way of Guelph and Wellington and the Volunteer Centre of Guelph/Wellington.
“Every year I’ve been impressed with the calibre of the nominees,” Cathy Taylor, executive director of the Volunteer Centre, said in a news release. “The contributions of the staff, students and faculty at the University of Guelph are invaluable to our community programs.”
