No parking will kill GO in Guelph
Letters
May 04, 2010
I just read the article on the GO Train situation and parking, and again the city has their heads in the sand (Tribune, April 20). GO will fail without parking. People need to park. People want their cars. The bus system will not work for people, nor will the ‘kiss and ride.’ Do you think my wife and my little girl want to get up early to take me to the station and do it again when I come home? No.
We need parking, not renos on storefronts downtown. Why bother trying Go service if it is not going to be done right? Will I use it? No, not without parking.
I will continue to fight for parking here, like Georgetown and Barrie. I will continue to go to Georgetown until Guelph gets a parking lot. If GO fails, it will be the mayor’s fault, but, hey, at least the empty stores downtown will look nice.
