An alcohol enforcement blitz in St. George’s Square saw police issue seven tickets – for open liquor and consuming liquor in a public place – in a 2 1/2-hour period.
The tickets were issued Aug. 2 between 1 and 3:30 p.m. while the Guelph Police tactics and rescue unit was specifically looking for alcohol offences in the square, a news release said. Police seized alcohol during the blitz.
