Charge after running into school bus

A woman had to be extricated from her car after she rear-ended a school bus Monday morning outside of Guelph.
The crash happened around 8:30 a.m. as a bus carrying elementary school students stopped to pick up some children on County Road 7 in Guelph/Eramosa Township, a news release said. The bus, which was heading to Guelph, was hit from behind by a 2011 Volkswagen Jetta. The bus’s lights were activated and the stop arm extended at the time of the collision, it said.
The driver of the Volkswagen had to be extricated from the car and was taken to hospital in Guelph with non-life-threatening injuries, it said.
The 55-year-old Ariss woman was charged with careless driving. No children were injured.
