Cops nail aggressive drivers
Local police participation in a national road safety initiative resulted in more than 180 charges over the long weekend. Guelph Police Service took part in Operation Impact from Oct. 5 to 8, focusing on driving behaviours that put drivers, passengers and other road users at risk. By far the greatest number of charges – at 179 – were for aggressive driving, including speeding, red lights and careless driving, a news release said. Local police also issued tickets for two seatbelt offences and charged three people with impaired driving.
