Five local schools were placed in lock-down for 45 minutes Wednesday afternoon, when a male with what was believed to be a handgun was spotted at Our Lady of Lourdes high school.
Officers were called by a school administrator at 12:05 p.m. Investigation revealed that a male was sitting in a black SUV in the school parking lot. He brandished the gun in front of several students, a news release said.
The vehicle left the scene when police were called, but was located 45 minutes later. The police’s tactical response unit stopped the vehicle and three males were taken into custody, the release said.
The responsible male was not an Our Lady of Lourdes student, it said.
A replica Smith and Wesson revolver was later seized from a residence on Wellington Road 30.
