Men busted with a cart full of merch

Two men were arrested after they tried to leave the Walmart on Tuesday afternoon with a cart full of merchandise they hadn’t paid for.

Guelph Police were called in at around 1:45 p.m. to help with arresting the shoplifters.

When the two men left the store, the store’s loss prevention officer was able to arrest one of them, but the other ran from the area, a news release said.

Police continued to investigate and found more stolen merchandise in the truck of one of the men. It was merchandise that had been stolen from a Kitchener Walmart.

Police were able to identify the second man, and he was arrested later that day.

A 19-year-old Hillsburgh man and a 22-year-old Hillsburgh man were charged with theft under $5,000 and possession of stolen property under $5,000.
