Startled horses injure buggy driver

A horse and buggy driver was taken to hospital with what appeared to be serious injuries after he was run over by his own buggy on Saturday.
The 62-year-old Breslau man was tending to his two horses in the parking lot of the Zehrs on Eramosa Road at around 1:50 p.m. when the horses were startled and began running through the parking lot, dragging the man on the asphalt, a news release said.
The man eventually came free of the reins and was run over by the out-of-control buggy, it said.
Both horses them broke loose of the buggy and continued south on Stevenson Street North. Police and paramedics were called, and the man was taken to hospital.
Both horses were located in the area of Palmer and Stevenson streets and returned to a safe location, the release said. The horses received minor injuries as a result of the incident, it said.
