Swimmer scores gold and silver at nationals

Our Lady of Lourdes graduate Bethany Flemington, a former Guelph Gryphon swimmer, earned a silver medal in the 50m women’s backstroke and a gold in the 4 X 100m freestyle relay for the University of Calgary at the CIS championships.

Brantford’s Chantique Payne earned four medals for the Guelph Gryphons. She took silver in women’s 50m butterfly, bronze in 100m butterfly, and a bronze in the 50m freestyle and 100m freestyle.

The Guelph women were ninth overall at the event and the men were 12th.

Calgary won both men’s and women’s titles.
