Technology showcase Wednesday

The range of opportunities available to tech professionals in and around Guelph will be the focus of the third annual Guelph Technology Showcase, which takes place Wednesday evening at the University of Guelph.
The 5-7 p.m. Jan. 29 event will be in the U of G’s Science Complex Atrium.
The showcase includes 30 exhibitors in three categories – local computer-based businesses, large organizations with IT departments and associations with resources for tech professionals, a news release said.
People who attend will be able to gain insight into the technologies being used by local organizations, so they can see if their technical skills are applicable, the release said.
They can also inquire about current or future co-op or employment positions, discuss how key players typically hire and question what they look for in potential employees.
The Guelph Technology Showcase, which is described as the largest and best-attended tech event in Guelph, is organized by the Guelph Technology and Design Cluster Co-operative in partnership with the University Of Guelph School Of Computer Science. The Guelph Technology and Design Cluster Co-operative is a not-for-profit organization that aims to bring recognition to the Guelph information technology community and encourages collaboration among companies and individuals.
