Transit workers vote on Sunday

Guelph Transit workers will vote Sunday evening on the tentative contract agreement reached between their union and the city last weekend, which was ratified by city council on Monday.

The agreement averted a lockout of transit workers that was set to take effect at 12:01 a.m. Monday.

Details of the tentative deal haven’t been released yet.

An offer made by the city to ATU Local 1189 last Friday included a 6.4 per cent wage increase over four years.
